My Anti-Meat Experience

So a couple of weeks ago I had a kind of strange experience. I was invited to one of my best friend's house for a party. From what I understood it was just one of those random parties people decide to have, just cause. When I got there however I discovered this wasn't the case.

So my friend lives in a place where she has a bit of property, like enough to have some animals, but it isn't a farm. These animals have names and they're their pets and we play with them and have watched them grow up. So anyway, this girl has really strange parents who decided to have their pig Babe and one of their goats Joey, shot in their paddock. This would be totally understandable if they lived on a farm, or I guess if they, I don't know, maybe sold the goat or pig to someone else to kill, but no. This party was the celebration of the death of their two pets, and by celebrating, they ate Babe and Joey. Obviously I was mortified to arrive at her place and smell these adorable animals I had played with, being cooked on a spit.

So I watched everyone at the party eat them, while I decided not to. Before this I was a big meat eater, I'm extremely fussy when it comes to food, but I'm usually fine with meat until now. I think the party was about 4 weeks ago and since then I've eaten meat on two occasions, one was a sunday roast and the other was lasagne and I felt as though I was going to throw up afterwards and mind you I didn't eat very much of it, I just didn't enjoy the taste. Part of me wishes I'd get over this and go back to eating me like I used to, but for the time being I'm struggling to even deal with the smell or the thought.

So anyway, there's my story about why I haven't been eating meat lately. For all you vegans and vegetarians out there I'd love to hear your story about what experience caused you to suddenly stop eating meat. Make sure to leave it in the comments below.

Yours Truely,
